I’ve always been told ‘Oh if you don’t know what you want to do, that’s okay. You don’t have to know,'” says Engler Entrepreneur, Cheyenne Gerlach. “And for me, I’ve known since I was 15. Carrie Horazeck, a former consultant for Fortune 500 companies and current graduate TA for the Engler Program, touches on drivers of change, imposter syndrome, and women in business. Carrie specializes in innovation and consumer insight as she takes global trends from a 30,000 viewpoint and helps students understand the impacts these global changes will have right here in the Midwest. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that she’s Engler’s crystal ball with her expertise in anticipating what the world will be.
Brock Vetick is a Lyons, Nebraska native who grew up with influential entrepreneurs all around him. Brock believes entrepreneurship is the vehicle for discovering his purpose–whether it’s a mindset or business venture. However, Brock’s fire in the belly is an enterprise that helps serve rural Nebraska.
Haley Miles is an Engler Alumni and founder of Sandhills Blue, a photography business that serves Rural Nebraska. While Haley likes taking pictures, tune in to this episode to learn what aspect of the business is closest to her heart. In this episode, she goes beyond the realm of photography to discuss creating opportunity in small-town U.S.A.
Halle Ramsey is the founder of 1624 Creations, a custom stationery business that was started as an ode to Proverbs 16:24, “Gracious words are like honey. Sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” In this episode, Halle dives into facing resistance and accepting callings.
Dave Lambe, Engler’s Chief Learning Officer, shares how he invests in students day in and day out. His experience owning a cut flower business guides him in coaching the entrepreneurs who step into his office door that is always open. At the end of the day, Dave’s goal is to help students turn what makes their eyes light up into an enterprise.
“The Engler Program showed me it’s more than the rubric and getting an A on the test,” says Engler Entrepreneur, Haley Ehrke. Haley is the founder of Wave Image Marketing, a multimedia and social media marketing business with an emphasis in agriculture. Tune into this episode to discover how Haley’s entrepreneurship journey started in a hospital.
Engler Entrepreneur, Eli Wolfe says, “Regardless if you think you actually have a purpose or not, you should still do what your heart tells you to do. Hannah Esch is the founder of Oak Barn Beef, a farm to table beef company. In this episode, she shares her experience running a business that ships nationwide while also being a full-time college student. But if you think we’re only chatting about beef, think again! Hannah shares her heart with us as she unveils her core purpose and gives us insight into all the peaks and valleys of entrepreneurship.
Emily Bledsoe is the founder of Emily Ann Lettering, a company that creates 100% handmade and custom designs. Through the creation of signs, hand lettering and calligraphy, Emily serves brides, as well as hosts calligraphy classes. You may wonder, how did Emily get to where she is now? What is her ‘why’? You’ll hear all about it, and probably get some goosebumps along the way. Give her episode a listen to hear how faith was the start of a purposeful pursuit.
Jared Knobbe is an alumnus of the Engler Program who thrives off of money conversations. Oscaline Usanase, a recent graduate of UNL and the Engler Program, walks us through a time in her life when she explored her inner self in order to find her ‘why.’ Belief is the seed that was planted so Oscaline’s passions could grow into ventures. She has a light about her that is bound to give you empowerment in just 22 minutes. And spoiler alert – Oscaline wrote her own book – say whaaaaat?!

Kelsey Thompson, a student who just finished her first year in the Engler Program, paints us a picture of what it was like to walk into Miller Hall for the very first time. Brennan Costello is the Chief Business Relations Officer for the Engler Entrepreneurship Program. You’ll hear him say there’s no rubric or magic formula for starting a business.
